2. Ivy didn't remember Valentines Day from last year so after her school party she walked outside and proclaimed it to be the best day of her life. She also got to taste a fun-dip for the first time. 4+ years of avoiding them is a win in my book.
3. On Friday Chris's dad had a heart surgery to get a defibrillator put in. His pesky heart isn't wanting to heal up on its own, so they put this device in as a safeguard in case his heart goes out of rhythm. The surgery was a success and he went home the next day. He is now wirelessly attached to a machine that reads his heart and sends messages back to medtronic and then onto his doctor. Crazy!
4. It's tough to be away during times like this, but we are so thankful that David and Linda have such great friends. It was super great to receive this text with the picture of their friends who were all at the hospital on Friday with Linda. And it was also a good reminder to why friends are so important and that we need to put in effort to keep those friendships strong even when life seems to be too busy.
5. Last weekend we went to the Edmonton Ice Castles. We were planning to go this weekend, but the weather warmed up so much we weren't sure if they would still be there! It was a fun little afternoon exploring and enjoying winter.
6. Ivy is something else with her clothing choices on most days, but this day was over the top. I got her a new swimsuit at Costco and she insisted on wearing it to pick up the kids from school! We don't have to get out of the car so I figured it wasn't a huge deal and definitely wasn't worth fighting with her.
7. Last week the kids all had a big morning at school! Max's class had Connor McDavid day. He is the star rookie on the Oilers team and he had been out 8 weeks with an injury. Max's teacher is a pretty big Oilers fan so they dedicated the day to him! Mya and 4 of her (tall) friends sang O'Canada on the school announcements and Ivy got registered for kindergarten! The cut off date for school is different in Canada than in the States. You have to be 4 by March 1st to go in the fall. So she will be pretty young next fall, but will only go half days. Max and Mya are PUMPED to play with her at recess!
8. We have been playing cards so much lately. Mya got the Monopoly card game in her stocking and we've been playing it ever since. Actually we're borderline obsessed with the game...there were a few days that we were playing AS we ate dinner! Ivy got a Shopkins go-fish game for Christmas from Chris's parents and we're averaging 10 games per day with her and she wins 9 out of 10 of them fair and square. Chris and I just have to shake our heads because we don't know how it happens!

Snow boots and swimsuits....why not?! We didn't grow up playing cards much, so we don't do it a lot with the kids, but I'd like to start! I'll have to try the Monopoly game! Fun to read your fun family adventures!
I love so many things about this post! We also got the monopoly card game (per your suggestion at Christmas), and we are obsessed too! Joe and I even ask the kids if they want to play! And yes- friends are so important to have in your life- David and Linda are very fortunate. And why wouldn't you wear a swimsuit and snow boots to pick the kids up from school in winter? I do it all the time :)
