Yesterday Ivy turned 8 months old! What a day/week it has been for her. She started crawling right on the day she turned 8 months! She has been really close for a few weeks now, but yesterday was the day her legs matched up with her arms and she took off! Last Monday she began pulling up on the ottoman and the bath tub. This morning when I went to get her after she woke up she was standing in her crib! Luckily we anticipated this and moved her crib down a bit, but we probably need to go even lower. Even with this being child #3, all of these "firsts" are just as exciting as they were with Max and Mya. I think part of the excitement is that Max and Mya get to see them and are so proud of their little sis:) Each time I get out a new month sticker for her to wear, they get so excited and are pretty quick to tell everyone her new age. Mya is still a bit confused about how Ivy can be "8" and she is only 3:)
In other news...she has 2 teeth in and a few more on the way. One on the top right next to the middle tooth and one of her bottom two middle teeth. She hasn't been horribly fussy with them, but we have definitely had to put sleep training on the back burner for awhile because of teeth coming in and also her frustration with not moving was really getting in the way of her sleeping well I think. Last night was one of our better nights in a loooooong time so maybe we're making headway!
She continues to eat baby food and cereal really well. She is slowly starting to be able to tolerate finger food like puffs and cheerios without puking. Just in the last couple of days she has ingested them and has done okay. She is working on a sippy cup, but is really not too interested. I need to buy some new kinds and see if that makes a difference. Found out at Target the other day that she can drink out of a straw just fine when I let her have a sip of Mya's strawberry smoothie. She couldn't get enough! Speaking of target, she is now big enough to sit in the cart when we're out shopping and in a high chair at restaurants!
Ivy is on a pretty good schedule these days as well. She takes a really good morning nap (2-2.5 hours) when we don't have anything going on and then a little shorter afternoon nap. (1-1.5 hours) Depending on how the rest of the day goes and what times those naps are, she still takes a late afternoon snooze a few days a week.
That's about all I can think of right now! Can't believe how fast time flies. Mya was 8 months old when we moved to Dubuque. Seems like yesterday!

Hard to believe how fast these 8 months have gone! Looking forward to seeing you for Mya's b-day bash and then again at Nordic Fest!
She is just the sweetest thing, Beth! Adorable!
