Vacation

Wow..it has been over a week since my last blog! I have a good reason though as we were gone for 9 days! The kids and I went to the cities to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Hoden and Uncle Jeff. We managed to fit a lot into a short period of time. I got to celebrate my friend Rachel's birthday, meet the newest Hoden family member (Sara Grace Johnson), meet Mason and Prior Schultes, visit the Minnesota Zoo with Emily, Anna and Drew Miler, play tennis on a grass court with my sister, Luke and my dad, back into one of Rachel's friends cars, go boating on Lake Minnetonka and see some other friends too! Are you tired yet?? That was just the beginning of vacation:)

Then, on Monday Chris came up and we all went to the cabin on Mille Lacs Lake for the rest of the week! The weather was a little crummy at first, but it ended up being great by the end of the week! We enjoyed some beach time, water time, got to play tennis and golf, watched some girl movies, ate a lot of good food, played lots of gin, read, watched Jeff play nintendo and spent some quality time with family! Oh...and plenty of time spent playing in the sand. Max was pretty timid of the water and sand last year, but this year he loved it! He spent many hours down playing in the sand, throwing rocks in the water and feeding Chippy (the chipmunk) Mya did awesome too. She loved the sand (so much so that she decided to make it a meal or two) She also hung out in the water and seemed very happy despite the water being a little chilly. Here are some pictures from the big week!

And we can't forget about Chloe. She had plenty of fun in running in the lake and then rolling around in the sand and dead fish! Chris tried to get her to jump off the dock like the neighbor dogs, but eventually gave up and just tossed her in. She still wouldn't jump in even after that. No distance jumping contests like you see on ESPN2 for Chloe in the future...

We also got to celebrate Mya's 1st birthday a little early with Chris's family in Bloomington. Grandma Linda organized a great little birthday party for her and it was really fun to see her attempt to eat a cake! (BTW...a cake with no eggs. We did find out this week that she is allergic to egg whites, but not egg yolks. We are going back for more tests in a couple weeks. Bummer) Here is a picture of her eating the cake!

Sounds like a fun vacation and trip to the cities. I'm so glad the kids (and you and Chris) enjoyed some lake and sand time. I love the picture of Chloe too.

Sounds like a fun filled vacation! I'm sure it was fun to see some friends and family! I'm laughing at that picture of Chloe. Don't you love bringing the dog everywhere? It's like another child! Hope you can rest now!

It was great to see you, Beth! Max and Miya are even cuter in person :)

I loved it when Max realized there were two babies and said - "look Mom...there's another one!" Hilarious! Let us know next time you're up north.
