I have 6 words that will sum up my kids' first week of school. WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES! Last year at this time I was still picking them up for lunch everyday, they were begging to be home schooled, they played with each other at recess and my stomach pretty much had a pit in it every minute of the day. This year is a whole different ballgame!!
They were both ready for the first day. We had a yummy dinner the night before with their favorite meal (chicken drumsticks and chocolate cake!) Max had trouble falling asleep because of a few nerves and because of the fact that he hadn't been to bed before 9:30 in months! He eventually came into our room at 10:40 and slept on our floor. The next morning they both got up and going right away and got ready with enough time to play a little iPad before school. Chris stayed home in the morning so he could help me get them out the door and get them settled in their classrooms.
We took some pictures outside and hit the road extra early because of all the construction in our area. We ended up taking some back roads and got to school with 15 minutes to spare before the doors even opened! I was a little nervous about the traffic apparently:) The kids both love their teachers. Max has Mr. Topping and Mya has Mrs. Dunford. Both seem like terrific people with tons of energy.
Ivy is going to be in preschool M/W/F mornings starting next week so we have been hanging out this week organizing toys, playing outside, running tons of errands and waiting for Max and Mya to get home!
